Carolyn Zacharias McAdamsIn this body of work I use my paintings as a place of escape. They are my release. I go to the studio and find my materials comforting and compelling. I work through my daily anxiety inside the imaginary worlds I create. Each painting has a story to tell. My work is not conceived as a finished painting, but rather I approach the work in much the same way a child plays make believe, spontaneously making it up as they go along. I let each painting “become” during the process of making the work. I think of these paintings as tiny “sets” or stages where I can play out my theatre of the absurd.
